Pylos or Pyraos

Day 11 - Pylos (or Pyraos)
Designed by David G. Royffe

Pyraos (or apparently better known as Pylos) is a 2 player strategic player game in which players try to be the player to place their last ball on top of the pyramid. The game picks up on the ever so common color scheme for 2 player strategic games (Black vs White). Players take turns placing balls on the pyramid board or by moving balls already on the pyramid up at least one level. When a player gets 4 balls of their color in a square, that player may remove up to 2 balls of his color from the pyramid hence allowing him to keep his color in reserve. Basically, the first to run out of balls is the loser because that means that the other player will have the remaining balls to finish the pyramid - take that natural wonders of the world! A really great strategic game, but maybe a little two "enclosed" or short of a game. The game is beautiful and would make a great coffee table game to have displayed. The Wife and I played best 2 out of 3 tonight and I came out on top of the pyramid this time. A game definitely worth checking out and that is How Lou Sees It.
